Happy Birthday Great Uncle Kevin!

We traveled to Illinois late last night after Dan got done with class in order to help Amy's Uncle Kevin celebrate his 50th birthday party. Just a little under a year ago, Kevin was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumor that was inoperable. His prognosis wasn't the greatest, and nobody expected him to make it to this birthday. It was quite the celebration, and we were actually able to get the entire Russell side of the family together for the party. Here is a picture of all of us :) (Amy's grandparents, parents, brother & nephew, and Uncle and his partner, along with her husband and children)

The party was in St. Louis at one of Kevin's friends houses. It was very tight quarters because they had so many people show up. Lots more than expected. People came from all over the United States (including us from Nebraska) to see Kevin so he felt pretty special. We are so glad that we were able to make the trip and be with him for such a big occasion! Oh, and the kids loved the cake and ice cream too :-)
