It's Official!
This past week I received my official acceptance letter for the accelerated nursing program at SIUE. I had to return my letter of intent to enroll in the program, and then they will send me more information later on this semester. All I know for now is that I will start some time in August, one week prior to the regular Fall semester of classes. The program will run from August 2009 thru December 2010. I'll update when I know a bit more about it all, I just wanted to share that exciting information! We are very happy to know that it seems as though we finally found the path that God has set out for us to take, as things are falling into place quite nicely here. It only took us 5 years to figure it out! haha....

Just a quick update to our busy lives!
Hello again. I finally have time to write a little update about our happenings as of late. The last two weeks were incredibly hectic for me in school, and i am very glad they are over! I am pretty sure I came out of them on top though :-)
Heidi is still loving every minute of school. She almost doesn't know what to do with herself on the weekends when she is at home the whole day. I love checking her backpack every day when she comes home to see what goodies she is bringing home to show me. I can tell she is thriving socially and mentally in this preschool program and it brings me so much joy to see the results in her daily! It is a little bit difficult for me though, because I wish I could be more involved than I am. Danny takes her to school everyday and my mom picks her up. So, basically, I just get to hear what she did that day and whatever my mom relays that Heidi's teacher might have told her that day. I know this is only a small taste of how it will be starting in the fall though, so I'm trying to find a way to get used to it.
Zach is growing day by day also! He has definitely entered into a new phase of childhood. His interests are getting to be "older" and he is very much looking forward to starting school. I took him to a preschool open house about a week ago and his face lit up when he realized that other boys were going to be at school too! Very cute. He is also taking on the role of "the oldest" full force when Heidi is gone at school in the mornings. He is very loving and helpful with Kylie and he is trying to show Drew the ropes when it comes to being a big boy instead of a baby. He is definitely the light of my every morning when he insists on hugs and kisses, and waving good bye before I leave for class. Then he goes downstairs to the basement and plays his v-smile, educational video games, which he is pretty darn good at!
Drew has begun to hit a HUGE milestone! For the last 5 days, we have been in potty training overdrive! He is having a little bit of trouble with #1 and usually has about 1 accident a day, but with #2, he has made it in the potty every single time!!!!! Yeah for that, and more power to my mom for getting that ball rolling. I'm so proud of him for going along with the idea also, even when it seems like half of the time he is doing it against his will. He is to the point where he can wear big kid underpants at nap time and wake up dry, but we still wear a diaper at night, and I think he probably will for a while. My only worry is that he will regress when we finally get into our new house.
Kylie is becoming quite the little girl. She is developing a bit of an attitude and princess complex :-) As far as she is concerned, what Kylie says, is what goes. Pounding her hand on her high chair is a signal for "more food, NOW", and it comes equipped with a loud "ah" that is repeated until she gets whatever it is she was wanting. I am still amazed at how much she loves to play with toys, even at such a young age. She will crawl (actual crawling now, not just army crawling) from one thing to the next and never stop, until she is tired and ready for her nap. Her favorite toys seem to be her "crawl and cruise musical jungle" and her stroller walker to push her baby. She is becoming very comfortable with my mom, which makes me happy and comforted, but at the same time a bit sad. Its tough knowing that I'm gone enough for her to make the transition from being such a mommy's girl, to reaching for someone else when I'm holding her. I'm trying my best to deal with that, but its not easy. Needless to say, this weekend I have held her quite a bit more, trying to get some of that bonding that I miss so much back :-(
As for Danny, he has been keeping very busy also. He is enjoying classes at UMSL (University of Missouri--St. Louis) but is noticing quite the change between the student population at kearney and wayne vs. there. Our new house is coming along very nicely and is going to be absolutely amazing when it is done. I am so pleased and proud of the work he has done in flipping that house. Some day, when i find time to sit down long enough to do so, I promise to get pictures uploaded. We are at the point now where we are waiting for the inspecters to come, and then drywall can get put up and the new windows can get installed. We are all looking forward to the day when it is done and we can move in. My mom and dad can have their house back and get back to their routines, and we can live "on our own" again. I am very thankful for my parents and their generosity to lend us their home while Danny is finishing the renovations to ours.
I suppose that is all for now. I had better get to bed to be well rested for the start of this new week!
